Promotion Activities
The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation promotes professional projects in contemporary serious music. Both creative and interpretational as well as scientific projects are supported. The professional promotion of up-and-coming young musicians, also in the field of contemporary serious music, is likewise envisaged. Applications can only be made from the organizing institution. Separate applications and applications from individuals are not possible as a rule. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation promotes institutions in Germany and abroad. Grants-in-aid are awarded for a maximum of three consecutive years or periods (e.g. biennials).
The Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung does not award grants or support the production of marketable CDs. It is also not possible to support internal university projects. Similarly, the foundation does not award any general institutional promotions since funds are allocated for a specific purpose. Likewise funding for translations or printing costs for dissertations is not possible. It is not possible to apply for the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize or the grants-in-aid prizes for composers. These are awarded by the Board of Trustees.
