Reference to the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation

The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is delighted to support your project. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is a private charitable foundation headquartered in Switzerland. It is named after its founder Ernst von Siemens.
We urge you to note that the support provided is not promotion from Siemens AG. Siemens AG set up a foundation in 2009 called the Siemens Stiftung which, amongst other things, is also active in the field of arts and music. To avoid confusions please always ensure correct mention is made of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation (also see the Reference section under Public Relations).

Funding
If your project is to be funded you will receive a grant-in-aid agreement following the Board of Trustees meeting held at the end of the year. The allocated funds are project-specific and to be used, in accordance with the grant-in-aid agreement, solely for the approved project or sub-project. The Grant Recipient shall be entitled to the grant-in-aid once the supported project is announced publicly. The money will subsequently be transferred unsolicited to the account stated on the application form.

Acknowledgement of Receipt
Within 10 days of the funding being credited to your account you are required to send us an acknowledgement of receipt. Please fill out this form on the computer and send the original to us complete with your valid signature. Unfortunately, we cannot accept: forms filled in by hand / forms not complete with a valid signature / faxes or copies.

Project Number
The promotion project is given a project number that you must refer to in any correspondence. You will find the project number in the approval letter.

Project Changes
Any content-related changes, rescheduling, changes to parties involved etc. must be arranged with us under all circumstances. Please inform us as swiftly as possible about planned changes as alterations will lead to a loss of entitlement to the approved funding. The grant-in-aid can only be honored if the foundation gives its renewed written consent. It is also relevant to notify us of any changes as we refer to and update such details about your project on our website.

Interim Report
If your project is to be funded over several years or if it is not yet being held in the year the funding is paid please submit an unsolicited, half-yearly written interim report. The submission dates in each case are the end of June and the end of December unless otherwise stated in your acceptance letter.

Final Report/Statement of Expenditure
By no later than three months after conclusion of the project please submit a written report on how the project went without the need for a reminder. Please first state the project number and project title. The report should provide information on how the project progressed answering all key questions (who, what, where, when, how and why) on a maximum of two sheets of A4. Please also provide on a half sheet of A4 information on the objectives achieved. Please orientate yourself here to the objectives stated in the application. When you submit the final report please also include a tabulated statement of expenditure. This should be laid out in line with the budget plan enclosed with the application so that actual and estimated proceeds and expenditure can be compared. Please also submit a list of media coverage and one set of all printed material appearing on the project.

Promotion of Publications
Please send us reference copies after consultation.

Reference
As laid down in the Terms for Grants-in-Aid Projects, please make reference to the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation’s support in all project-related media (print media, electronic media etc.). With the logo and lettering use the following formulation: “With the friendly support of [logo]”.

With grants-in-aid for composition commissions mention should be made of the support on the score to be formulated as follows:
Composition commission by (name of your institution), supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.

For composition commissions that are fully funded by the foundation you shall undertake to indicate the support for the composition commission as follows in the score:

Composition commission by (name of your institution), funded by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation."

Relevant mention should also be made of the support at debut performances.

Please submit all project-related media to us by email beforehand for clearance. Please note that two working days are needed between submission and printing date. Please also submit to us your press releases for clearance and also mention the promotion here. A written reference to the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation shall suffice.

Please send us a reference copy of any relevant printed material.
