Born in 1963 Isabel Mundry studied composition in Berlin and Frankfurt under Frank Michael Beyer, Gösta Neuwirth and Hans Zender. After several years spent in Paris (Cité des Arts, Ircam) and Vienna she went on to teach composition and music theory in Frankfurt am Main from 1996 to 2005. Since 2004 she has been Professor of Composition at ZHdK Zürich and since 2011 likewise at University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. She gave master classes at locations such as Darmstadt, Copenhagen, Royaument, Tiflis, Japan and Korea. In 2002/3 she was Fellow at Berlin’s Institute for Advanced Study. She was invited as Composer in Residence by such bodies as the Lucern Festival, National Theater Mannheim and the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden. She is a member of the Academies of the Arts in Berlin and Munich.
