After earning his doctorate in musicology, Nikos Tsouchlos continued to study piano, composition and conducting in Athens and Paris. He also has a law degree. As a conductor of several European orchestras, he is particularly interested in supporting contemporary music. From 1991 to 2014 he was the artistic director of the Megaron, Athens’ concert hall. He teaches musical staging history and practice at Ionian University in Corfu. Among his honors is the "Chevalier des Art et des Lettres" from the French Ministry of Culture.
