Luciano Berio (1925‑2003): Writings and Interviews in 3 Volumes
Centro Studi Luciano Berio, Florence, Italy
The Centro Studi Luciano Berio in Florence is devoted to publishing the writings and interviews of this Italian composer who died in 2003. The first volume in the series “Un ricordo al futuro. Lezioni americane” published by the Einaudi publishing house in 2006 contains Berio’s six Charles-Eliot Norton lectures at Harvard University. With its support the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is to enable the Centro Studi Luciano Berio to employ a research assistant to work on the second and third volume in the series which is intended to cover Berio’s writings and key interviews. To mark the 10th anniversary of Berio’s death in spring 2013 an exhibition is also to be held at Florence’s Palazzo Strozzi, as is an international symposium at Siena’s Accademia Chigiana.
