Commission to Hanspeter Kyburz

Hanspeter Kyburz composes a new work for the Collegium Novum Zürich. Some 20 years after writing his first piano concerto, Hanspeter Kyburz again ventures into this traditional genre.  The playing of CNZ pianist Gilles Grimaître, to whom Kyburz "wrote the concerto to fit", has fascinated the composer to such an extent that he is entering into dialogue with the genre tradition for a second time. The premiere will be conducted by Peter Rundel.

The commission to Hanspeter Kyburz is financed by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
