Donaueschinger Musiktage
Donaueschingen (DE)
The Donaueschinger Musiktage 2023 is dedicated to the most diverse models of artistic collaboration. Due to the diversity in New Music, the roles of composers and musicians have changed, expanded and the separation has often become blurred or obsolete. In this context, the collaboration of 91-year-old Élaine Radigue with the SWR Symphony Orchestra deserves special mention. The composer transmits her works purely orally, without the notation in a score. This is a challenge for a symphony orchestra and enables completely new ways of working and rehearsing together. There will also be works by Younghi Pagh-Paan, Francesca Verunelli, Steven Takasugi as well as improvisations by Tyshawn Sorey, Peter Evans and Ingrid Laubrock, to name but a few. An integral part of the Donaueschinger Musiktage are the sound installations, which this year will be created by Ryoko Akama and Joanna Bailie, among others.
