On 30 November, the 5th part of the workshop series "Sustainability Perspectives in Contemporary Music" will take place.
The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is committed to the topic of "sustainability in cultural work" and would like to deal with this topic as responsibly as possible. For this reason, we have initiated a series of workshops on sustainability perspectives in contemporary music together with other funding organisations. The last workshop for the time being on 30 November 2023 from 15:00-17:00 will focus on sustainability communication and audience involvement.

The workshop deals with the question of what significance sustainability and climate protection have for communication with important partners and target groups in contemporary music. Participants will learn about examples of the content and messages that can be used to communicate their own understanding of sustainability as well as sustainability activities with employees and colleagues, with organisers, with funding bodies, with the audience and with the public. In the field of tension between artistic aspirations and social expectations, the workshop sensitises participants to the requirements and effects of sustainability communication. Participants will also take a critical look at the credibility of sustainability information in programmes, on websites or in sustainability reports.
