räsonanz – Donor concert Munich
The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under its principal conductor Kiril Petrenko will give its first guest performance in Munich in eight years. On September 17, 2023, a new work by Márton Illés will be performed at the Isarphilharmonie alongside works by György Kurtág and Iannis Xenakis. The soloist part in Karl Amadeus Hartmann's Gesangsszene is performed by Christian Gerhaher.

With the räsonanz – donor concerts, launched in 2016 together with Lucerne Festival and musica viva des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation enables extraordinary guest performances of contemporary music by international symphony orchestras. In this way, it fulfills its obligation to new music, encourages the major orchestras to include works of the younger generation in their repertoire, and also helps to revive works that are difficult to realize. Through räsonanz, not only does the new become established in the concert hall as a matter of course, but the ears of the musicians and the audience are also further opened to the unfamiliar and the perception of the new in music.
