Festival Ensemble(s) #3

Festival Ensemble(s), Paris (FR)

Ensemble(s) is a festival dedicated to the music of our time, led by five of the most active French ensembles in this field with a common voice. Together, the ensembles Cairn, Court-circuit, Multilatérale, Sillages and 2e2m have joined forces and inventiveness to launch the festival Ensemble(s) in 2020. After the success of the first editions, they decided to continue this fantastic joint adventure. This year's Festival Ensemble(s) #3 will take place from September 8 to 11, 2022 at the Echangeur Theater in Bagnolet near Paris and is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.

For four days, a program of diverse composers of all generations, aesthetics, and origins will be presented, including four world premieres. Two other concerts will bring together the five ensembles to perform six major works, including commissioned works by the Italian composer Mauro Lanza and by Sofia Avramidou, a young Greek composer. In addition, the music of Hugues Dufour will be a focus of the festival. In collaboration with the Royal Conservatory of Birmingham, two other commissioned works by composers Sebastien Gaxie (France) and John O'Gallagher (UK) will be premiered during the festival. In addition, musical performances by students of the Paris National Conservatory will be featured. Between the short concerts, the audience will have the opportunity to meet with musicians and composers in conversation, led by musicologist and radio producer Corinne Schneider.
