Six Composition Commissions | Masterpieces – Collaboration Rethinking

Ensemble LUX:NM, Berlin, Germany

LUX:NM contemporary music ensemble berlin is a contemporary music ensemble that has reaped international acclaim for its authentic and energetic interpretations of New Music. The ensemble was founded in 2010 with several soloists at the initiative of Ruth Velten and Silke Lange so as to develop self-determined and varied chamber music programs with flexible sound instrumentation. As an undirected ensemble, LUX:NM is dedicated to the interpretation of New Music while at the same time viewing itself as an initiator of contemporary music and new, genre-spanning projects. For its concert series Masterpieces – Collaboration Rethinking, LUX:NM is commissioning compositions by Oxana Omelchuk, Jesse Broekmann, Juliana Hodkinson, Mirela Ivicevic, Philipp Maintz and Steingrímur Rohloff. The six compositions for saxophone, trumpet, trombone, accordion, cello, piano, percussion and electronics are made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
