SPOR festival 2024

SPOR is the leading festival for contemporary music and sound art in the Nordic region. Every year, the festival brings unusual musical universes to established venues, alternative locations and public spaces in Aarhus, Denmark. The audience encounters international artists, established composers and young talents, all curiously experimenting with contemporary music, sound art and related art forms.

SPOR was founded in 2004 and from the very beginning it has been a central concern of the festival to put Danish musical life in an international perspective. This year's festival in May 2024 presents a diverse program, including concerts and performances. Around 15 productions will be presented at different venues. There will also be exhibitions and various events, including sound installations for a wide audience, master classes for students and an information day on sound art for artists, writers, curators and cultural professionals. In addition, there is a focus on an education program: every year, around 30 children and young people from all over the region come together to take part in our composition school SPOR New Music School. This initiative was created to inspire children and young people to create new music themselves and to broaden their horizons about what music is and how they can create music themselves.
